Emo Night Brooklyn Fairfax Concert reviews
Hit and Miss
Def Leppard slayed it on their classics I Hate Myself for Loving You, Crimson and Clover, and Bad Reputation. Poison came out and did decent, but the sound was too loud, drowning out the bass in an indoor stadium. The lame audience couldn't or wouldn't sing any of Joan Jett's sing-a-long parts throughout her show. Of course, they lost their mind when she played I Love Rock n Roll, but I felt bad for her on her other much better songs. Emo Night Brooklyn was the worst of all these bands. Vince Neil was really wearing a full-length fur coat and layers of other clothing on a day when we walked in from 105 heat. Was that really his (her) voice? OMG! I can't imagine having a conversation with him. Sound was right for Def Leppard, I could hear the notes, melodies, fills, and they have a great catalog of hits. Sound was turned up loud, too loud. My favorite MC song is Wild Side, and I couldn't hear that was the song until most of it was over. We left early, and we weren't alone. Joan Jett started out great, and people were still coming in. She destroyed it on her classics, but the audience was disappointing.
